Sports Radio ‘The Ticket’ visits downtown Rockwall for live broadcast

ROCKWALL, TX (July 17, 2014) Sports radio, The Ticket 1310 AM and 96.7 FM, took their morning show on the road Thursday and broadcast live from downtown Rockwall.  Radio personalities, George Dunham, Craig Miller and Gordon “The Great Gordo” Keith, collectively known as “The Musers”, entertained a full house from 5:30am until 10:00 am.
Zanata restaurant on the historic downtown square opened their doors before sunrise to serve fans of the sports talk radio morning team brisket tacos, breakfast pizza, and lots of hot coffee.
“We had people lined up on the sidewalk before we opened the doors at 5:30am. We do not usually serve breakfast and this is just great to see so many people here,” said Zanata’s Curtis Schaibly, who oversaw the fun from the back of the room.
The crowd was mostly male-dominated with a few brave women coming out to join the remote broadcast.  Rockwall Mayor David Sweet was singled out to answer a few light-hearted impromptu questions on-air along with several others, as “The Great Gordo” roamed the audience microphone in hand.  The Musers played a little Rockwall Trivia on-air and took pictures with a few eager fans.
Rockwall was one of five cities around the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex chosen by the morning radio show on their special appearance tour “Salute to the Metroplex”.  Ryan Childers, sales representative from The Tickets stated, “This is definitely one of the best turnouts we have had for this five city tour of the metroplex. You can tell by the enthusiasm of the guys on-air that they are really enjoying it, too.”
Although the rain began around 8:45am, that did not stop locals from continuing to trickle in throughout the program.  Rockwall gave an enthusiastically warm welcome to the morning show crew and it was standing room only until the very end.
